NORM Dwellers Steve and Simon, @___office (a local multi-disciplinary design and research practice) have recently published a neat collection of transcripts in a book called 'The Politics of Public Space.' It explores recent events which have shaped how Melbourne’s public spaces are discussed and understood, with excerpts from Mark Jacques, Tania Davidge, Tom Andrews & Peter Chambers, Libby Porter and Claire Martin. We will be closing for 6 weeks in line with restrictions around manufacturing and non essential services. Last day is Wednesday. We are currently trying to look at grants, negotiating with the landlord, regarding rent etc we don't have any answers yet but will let you know when we know.

Please exercise common sense over the next two days if you do come in. Wear a mask, wash your hands, keep 1.5m away from each other.

What this means:

1. No causal access
2. Studio holders only
3. Regularly sanitise your hands when you’re in NORM.
4. Wearing a face mask in the space is compulsory.

FIRST PRIZE is this fantastic timber sculpture, created by artist Mila Poblete. @mila.ca.mila
Title: Intuition III, 2018. Tasmanian Oak, 65 x 35 x 35 cm.

This stunning sculpture was hand carved from a single piece of Tasmanian Oak as part of a series exploring interlocking geometric forms.

With a background in fine arts, graphic design and work experience at an international level, Mila’s installations and innovative designs create engaging experiences for indoor and outdoor displays. Her work encompasses festival installations, site-specifics, window displays, murals and commercial interior design.
ALL FUNDS RAISED will go towards much needed workshop and building upgrades, as well as losses due to Covid-19. Without trying to sound melodramatic, we need your help! Our community is at stake!
